NEWS 21st February 2012
Recording continues on
the new TANK album to be entitled "War Nation".
Many of the basic tacks are now complete
with Doogie White due to start recording his vocals this
week. Already the album has all the hallmarks of a great
metal record- pummelling drums behind classic riffs. Expect a release in early Summer
2012.
A setlist is also been chosen
for the upcoming shows. As always it will feature old TANK
standards alongside new classics from the War Machine album.
A few surprises are being lined up in the form of two new
songs from the upcoming War Nation album and a couple of old
live rarities.
The for the Swedish shows
TANK will be joined on the bill by Swedish Metallers
Wolf at
the
Zaragon Rock Club,
Jonkoping on March 2nd and
Rockland
in Sala on March 3rd. The Polish show at the
Stodola Club
in Warsaw on 9th
March is being recorded for a future live DVD. Make sure
your face is in the crowd!
NEWS 1st February 2012
Recording has started on
the new TANK album to be entitled "War Nation"
with producer Phil Kinman. Expect a release in early Summer
2012.
Guitarist, Cliff Evans says
“As with our
‘War Machine album, ‘War Nation’ will include a variety
of different influences and styles. With a wealth of
musical ability to draw from, we don’t like to limit
ourselves. Individually we’ve worked with names such as
Ritchie Blackmore, Bruce Dickinson, Paul D’anno and
Yngwie Malmsteen. So many bands release albums now where
once you’ve listened to the first two songs you’ve heard
the whole album. Not with Tank. Each song that makes it
onto our album has to deserve it. Our standards are
high."
Singer, Doogie White continues,
“I am very
pleased with how it is all sounding now. With songs like
‘Justice for All’ and ‘Grace of God’ we are upgrading
the TANK sound while retaining all the elements that
made ‘War Machine’ so successful. There are killer riffs
and haunting melodies and lyrics that you can take from,
what you want, or indeed what you need. It was my idea
to call the album ‘War Nation’. With all that has been
going on in the world over the last while, it appears
that a great many people in the nations of the world are
not prepared to put up with the status quo anymore.
Whether its ruthless dictators, corrupt politicians and
bankers, religious godheads. The people are restless and
screaming ‘Damnation, War Nation’.”
Making a
welcome return to the drum stool is former Tank drummer,
Steve Hopgood. Steve previously played with Tank on the
Return of the Filth Hounds Live album and has also played
with metal bands such as Paul Di'Anno's Killers and Persian
Risk.
As well as the DVD
recorded show at the
Stodola Club
in Warsaw, Poland on 9th
March (more details in the last news feature), two more
shows have been added for March. TANK will be playing live
in Sweden at the
Zaragon Rock Club,
Jonkoping on March 2nd and a welcome return to
Rockland
in Sala on March 3rd. As with the Polish shows the
setlist will be a mix of new and old TANK tracks. We look
forward to seeing many new Swedish friends made at last
year's Rock At Sea show again...

There's lots of TANK news
and plans for 2012. First of all, production continues on the new
TANK album. New working titles for songs include "War
Nation", "Grace of God" and the excellent "Song for the
Dead". The album is expected to be finished in early 2012
and released in Spring in time for TANK's appearances at the
European Summer Festivals 2012.The
first show of 2012 that we can confirm is at
the Stodola Club in Warsaw,
Poland on 9th March. This will be a very special show for
the band. It will be our first gig in Poland since the Judas
Priest support slot in Katowice last Summer. That was a
great night for TANK and the first chance the band had had
to bond with their Polish fans. TANK will never forget the
welcome Poland gave us that night. That's why we decided to
use this upcoming show to film a live DVD.
The set will include classic TANK tracks, the best songs
from the War Machine album and possibly the World premier of some
exclusive new songs.
More shows are also already being
planned for 2012, details will be published as soon as we
confirm them. To Book a TANK concert contact
